~Henry David Thoreau was born in Concord, MA in 1817, and is

best known for his influential work, Walden, which was published by

Ticknor & Fields in 1854.Scot Miller is a professional

photographer whose recent projects have focused on Yosemite, the

Maine Woods, the Texas Hill Country, Italy, and France. The Harvard

Museum of Natural History's "Thoreau's Walden: A Journey in

Photographs by Scot Miller" is currently on a national museum tour.

Miller's photographs have appeared in numerous books and

publications. He lives in Carrollton, Texas, with his wife, where

they own and operate the Sun to Moon Gallery.~
