He is reported to have looked up at the stars and said:' Forget not, Zeus, the author of these woes,' referring of course to Antonius. They say that Antonius himself later quoted the same line when he was beset by his own dangers, regretting that when he could have been numbered alongside Cassius and Brutus he had helped Octavian.
